Japanese Tracker Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Japanese Tracker ("Japanese Tracker," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Services.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

You may provide study-related information when using the Services, including which categories you completed, time studied (minutes and seconds), resource links, and optional immersion items (e.g., manga/anime/YouTube/games).

Technical information

Like most websites, your browser may provide standard technical information (such as device/browser details) when you load pages.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide and operate the Services, to maintain and improve the product, to prevent abuse, and to support you.

3. Account and Server Storage

When you create an account and sign in, your study logs, time entries, activity notes, and settings are stored on our servers (PostgreSQL) and linked to your user account. All hosting — including our application and database — is provided by Railway. This lets you access the same data across devices and browsers while signed in.

4. Cookies and Sessions

We use session cookies (or equivalent mechanisms) to keep you signed in. Your browser may also store standard site data (such as cached assets) as part of normal web browsing.

5. Analytics

The MVP does not include analytics tracking. If analytics are added later, this policy will be updated.

6. Payments

Billing is processed by Polar, our third-party payment provider. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and study data while your account is active. Account deletion and data export options may be added in future updates; contact us if you need your data removed.

8. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the Services (for example, Railway for hosting and Polar for payment processing) and when required by law.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on our website, and the last updated date will be revised.

10. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us through the contact form on our website. You can also review our Terms and Conditions.
